Certificate of Proficiency issued under the Authority of the Director of Marine, MPA.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: STCW 1978, STCW 1978, as amended and including the requirements of STCW 2010 (Manila Amendments) – Chapter VI - Mandatory minimum requirements for safety familiarisation, basic training and instruction for all seafarers – Section A-VI/1 Safety Familiarisation Training requires that: Before being assigned to shipboard duties, all persons employed or engaged on a seagoing ship, other than passengers, shall receive approved familiarisation training in; Personal Survival Techniques – Section A-VI/1-1, Fire Prevention and Firefighting – Section A-VI/1-2, Elementary First Aid – Section A-VI/1-3 and Personal Safety and Social Responsibility – Section A-VI/1-4.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: STCW 1978, as amended and including the requirements of STCW 2010 (Manila Amendments) – Chapter VI - Mandatory minimum requirements for security-related training and instruction for all seafarers – Section A-VI/6 Standards of Competency for Security-related Familiarisation Training requires that: Before being assigned to shipboard duties, all persons employed or engaged on a seagoing vessel which is required to comply with the provisions of the ISPS Code, other than passengers, shall receive approved security-related familiarisation training in; Security Awareness Training for all Seafarers.
NOTE: It is also a requirement that all seafarers must provide evidence of continuing competence by completing Basic Safety Training Refresher training every 5 years.
